Sybille II

The subject of Sybille II by Wim Delvoye is the skin. The magic of the work lies in the use of close-ups. They cause the pictures at first glance like an imaginary landscape lifeless. After several minutes worm-like objects on the surface come to life. Suddenly reveals the true nature of the images. Delvoye creates a work of art that our conventional idea of what the rather confused. The film shows a series of sequences in which various ways, always in tonesivory and white, seem to arise from nowhere in an exotic landscape cross stitch. This apparent are fascinating creatures, such as in a space the viewer can not see cards first. At some point (it took a certain number of minutes) you realize that you do not see exotic marine life, but close-ups of people squeezing points blacks.
